What Is Doomsday Prepping? Simple!

At the end of your life, what do you want to say you did to prepare for it?

Granted, most of us don’t know exactly when our time is up. So if you’re like many people, you just go to work every day, come home to your family and friends, and enjoy your weekend. But what if the world ended while you were doing all those things? Would you be ready? That’s where doomsday prepping comes in!

Doomsday Prepping

Doomsday prepping is about believing that you deserve to be ready for any situation. It’s about having a plan B when things go sideways. And it’s about making sure you know what to do when your favorite local stores are closed or looted and your government can’t help you anymore.

Prepping is a way of preparing for a potential disaster or cataclysmic event.  It could be something such as  a nuclear war or an asteroid hitting the earth. It is prepping that’s focused on ensuring that you can survive in whatever environment you find yourself.

You might have heard about people who’ve stockpiled food and water, built bunkers in their backyard, or trained themselves in wilderness survival. But most of us don’t have bunkers and we’re not being chased by nuclear missiles.

The truth is, doomsday prepping is a lot more like the Boy Scouts than it is like the Walking Dead. It’s about being prepared, sure. But it’s also about making sure you can take care of yourself and your family, should something catastrophic happen.

It doesn’t matter if you think the end times are coming. It never hurts to be prepared for an emergency in general. You never know when shits about to hit the fan! Think of the importance that it has for many disasters that we already sadly common. Such as natural disasters that might leave your community without power for weeks. Prepping is an exercise in self-reliance, not trying to predict the future.

When you’re thinking about prepping, think about these things:

  • Do you know where your family will go if there’s a fire?
  • What is you’re have a plan for how to get out?
  • Have you taught your children to make essential phone calls?
  • Have you taught you’re children how to find help in an emergency?
  • If there’s an earthquake or a flood or other disaster, could your family survive

Why do people prep for doomsday?

There are some people who have been prepping for years if not decades. The side that is to often forgotten is that prepping can be so much fun! Learning about survival skills is alot of fun in my opinion. A great way to make it even better  is when you do it with those that we love.

It’s a great deal of fun, to put it lightly when you come together as a family.  To learn these skills such as learning to build a fire. Or the many other skills that you can learn.  Which can seen in the following : building fires, hunt animals, grow their own vegetables, and clean drinking water from streams.

Civilization or mankind has spent a few years, or more likely thousands of years in honing survival. It is not something that’s a new concept. It is apart of our DNA and is normal! The reality is that every day our planets resources are growing smaller and smaller. There are many inventions and efforts to counter many of the problems we have created. That being said it’s key to be ready for when things do not go according to plan.   It’s not just the risk of resource shortage’s that threatens to destroy our way of life. It’s the social unrest, collapse of society as we know it. Or the many natural and manmade disasters that could cause society to crumble.

Prepping for A Deadly Pandemic

You know you feel it! It’s that feeling in your gut. The world isen’t getting better by any stretch of the imagination. Its getting alot more crazy. Who can you blame? The reality that even in the 21st century we are not superior to viruses and disasters. COVID-19 made sure of that. There will continue to be even more deadly viruses that have not come out from the woodwork. Social media dosen’t help creating more hysteria and panic among people. This leads to more damage when there never needed to be.

You are a smart cookie to say the least. I know I am. You know that a disease as deadly as the black plague or worse could come out of nowhere. The peace of mind having a game plan and supplies in place to counter this is not irrational. It is a measure to protect yourself and family if god forbid that were to occur.

That’s why we’re going to walk you through everything you need to know about prepping for a pandemic.

In most situation’s such as a doomsday type you need to know what direction danger is coming. In this case it could be spread in various ways. The most common would be an airborne virus that is spread between humans through touch and coughing.

Urban Survival

I am not a doomsday prepper, but I am a prepper—I prepare.

There are a lot of reasons to prep! The reason that I am a prepper is that I gain a sense of peace and calm when I am prepared for the unkown. To not live in fear!

And maybe because I’m also afraid of the world ending. You need to know what to do in an urban survival situation because preparing for an urban environment is very different.

It’s likely that you’ll find yourself in a situation that’s common. It’s these kind of situations that inspired me to starting prepping in the first place. Such as being stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire. I had no cell service and no idea/experience changing a tire. I learned fast after that how to change a tire, so I was never unprepared again.

Common Situations

It’s these common situations that demonstrated how important aquiring skills really are for survival. To have the skills and items prepared for a disaster is never a bad idea to have!

Doomsday prepping is hard enough when you have a whole homestead to work with. But what about when you’re living in an urban environment?

How do you survive if the zombie apocalypse hits your city? Or if a tsunami wipes out your neighborhood?

The good news is, it’s not that hard. If you know where to look and what to bring. You can turn a studio apartment into the “ideal bunker”. Not literally!

Here are our top tips:

Have a bug out bag ready. Keep it stocked up with food and water, as well as any other essentials.  You’ll want a bug out bag for yourself and any other family member in   in case of emergency. You may not be able to get back home, so make sure it has everything you’ll need for at least 72 hours. I would make sure its in an easy to reach area in a location everyone(family) knows.

Wrap up your windows with corrugated steel or plastic, and keep them closed with duct tape. This will help block out any radiation or toxic fumes in the air.  It will also protect your apartment from flying objects during violent storms.

Keep a first aid kit accessible so all of your supplies are in one place. This should include bandages, gauze, medical tape, scissors, alcohol swabs, disinfectant spray/wipes, antihistamines

Nuclear War

It is paramount to know how to survive nuclear war if doomsday ever came to it. It’s better to be prepared for a catastrophe than not. Prepping for a nuclear war.

The first thing you need is a fallout shelter. The government recommends having one built into your home, but that can be expensive! I recommend buying enough food and water to last you for at least 2 weeks. This is when the radiation levels will be at their highest. Every day after the explosion the radiation levels will go down. I would go to the most inner room in your home.  One without windows and has no walls that touch the outside. This could be a bathroom.

What If You Are Not Home ?

If you do not have time to get home or are in a public setting take cover. You should get under a table in a building and get into the fetal position. Know where your nearest fallout shelter is.

Prepping With Food

I know that you have to have food to live. That’s why food is so essential to have stored. The truth is that what happens if the shelves at your grocery store are empty? Or maybe all the grocery stores are all closed? Or maybe you order alot of your groceries online but there is no one to deliver them?

I think of food prepping as such an integral part of being a prepper. You should ensure that you have at least enough food to last you for three months in your home. The more the better. This is the bare minimum that you should have.

When SHTF and a doomsday type of situation happens, its going to do so without warning. This means being ready ahead of time. So make sure you have food stockpiled just in case, it dosen’t take alot of work to build a small sfood supply. I would  recommend storing some of your favorite foods with long shelf lives.

Canned foods are an easy go to when it comes to long term food storage. They also can be eaten on the go when SHTF!

I would also want to have the knowledge of how to grow my own food without the need for stores. The practicing of survival skills should never be underestimated! Knowing how to hunt your own food and find water in the wilderness is a real asset!

Protecting Your Food

It’s likely that people will want your supplies for themselves when SHTF. Things will be chaotic and wild. So having the correct tools and knowing how to fortify your homes is essential. Or all your hard prepping, such as your food supplies will be taken.

Think of all the natural disasters that occur and people are without food, water or even shelter. They also tend to need other supplies that take days, weeks or months to get to them.

Mental Preparedness

So you have your bug-out bag packed and ready to go. Your car is gassed up and your emergency vehicle kit is in the trunk. You know where you’re going to run to if disaster hits, but do you know how you’re going to survive?

The greatest threat that you face when a catastrophe strikes isn’t from other people, it’s from yourself. Mentally unprepared for the doomsday scenario that you find yourself in and it has the potential to be more deadly than any natural disaster or criminal element.

When a catastrophe hits, and you aren’t prepared mentally, what are you going to do? Thats why being mentally prepared is so important. Mental Preparedness for whatever comes your way!

You may think that stocking up on canned food and water is all that you need because you’ve seen it on the TV shows. The one thing they don’t show is how they feel when they’re stuck in a situation like this. You don’t see them break down, cry or scream at each other in frustration while they try to figure out what they’re supposed to do now.

Learn about what types of disasters happen in your area: Knowing what types of natural and man-made disasters are likely to happen in your area will help you know what steps to take in the event of a disaster. For example, if hurricanes are common in your area, then you should have supplies ready to go in case a hurricane hits. If tornadoes or earthquakes are common where you live, then it’s important to know where the best places are to seek shelter in case they hit. You also need to learn about other kinds of disasters that could happen anywhere, like chemical or nuclear accidents.

Off-Grid Prepping

Imagine this: you’re sitting at home on your couch, and suddenly the power goes out. Not just in your apartment, but all over town. Frustrated and confused, you head down to the grocery store in search of answers—only to find that the shelves are empty.

What would you do?

It’s a question many people don’t even know how to begin answering. But it’s an important one. The world is a volatile place, and it’s not outside of the realm of possibility that we might have to fend for ourselves without access to grocery stores or electricity. That’s where “doomsday prepping” comes in.

Doomsday preppers are people who believe that they need to stockpile resources in preparation for a major disaster. They keep food and water reserves, buy gas masks, and practice strategies for surviving off the grid in case something happens that disrupts the way things currently work (like a sudden loss of infrastructure or widespread sickness). These people can be viewed as paranoid, or even insane—but they’re also prepared. And what they’re preparing for is something very real, whether we like to think about it or not.

We’ve all seen the movies. The world is ending, and people are panicking. But there’s always one guy who isn’t. He’s always calm, cool, and collected. He has a plan for what to do next. He has supplies that will help him survive whatever comes his way. That guy is a doomsday prepper.

Some of us think he’s crazy—that he’s paranoid because there’s no way the world could end anytime soon. But others disagree and have decided to take steps to be ready in case the world does end. They’re going to be prepared for anything—a natural disaster, a zombie apocalypse, or nuclear war. They’ll have food when grocery stores run out, they’ll have generators when power goes out, they’ll know where they can get clean water when taps stop working.

If you’re thinking about becoming a doomsday prepper, then you have to start doing research now. You need to decide what areas of your life you want to prepare for first

It Is A Great Thing To Stockpile And Have A Great Deal Of Food Security. What Happens When Those Resources Run Out?

That is why becoming self-sufficient is essential.

Self-sufficiency means having the ability to meet all of your needs for food, water, energy, and shelter without relying on outside assistance. It is a key component of prepping and a necessary step in preparing for any type of disaster.

There are many reasons why becoming self-sufficient is important. For one, it can help you protect yourself from emergencies or natural disasters. If the grid goes down or there’s an outbreak of a pandemic, being self-sufficient can mean having enough food and water to last you until help arrives. Additionally, being self-sufficient can reduce your reliance on outside sources of support and make you more resilient in times of crisis.

Growing your own food is one way to become self-sufficient.  There are a number of different ways to become self-sufficient, so there’s something for everyone. One such way would be to start gardening if you have never grown plants before as this is a very simple process. You can also try growing fruit or vegetables in a garden, raising chickens or rabbits, fishing, hunting, or gathering wild plants. There are many different ways to become self-sufficient, so there’s something for everyone.

There are a few things you can do to help make the transition to becoming self-sufficient easier. One is to create a prepping plan and make sure you have all the necessary supplies on hand. Another is to find like-minded people who can support you along the way and offer advice when it comes to gardening, cooking, and other aspects of prepping. Finally, be patient – it takes time and effort to become self-sufficient, but the rewards are many and worth it!

Natural Disasters

It’s all too common to hear about natural disasters, and how they can wreak havoc on people’s lives. The news is filled with stories of people being left without food or water, and no way to get by until the disaster has passed.

But what if you were prepared?Do you live in an earthquake zone? Do you live in a tornado zone? Are you prepared for the next storm, hurricane, or wildfire that comes your way? If you’re like most people, the answer is probably “no!” What if there was something you could do right now that would allow you to survive any natural disaster?

It’s time to take control. It’s time to get prepared.

Millions of people are completely unprepared for a natural disaster. They do not have enough supplies to get them through the first 72 hours, they have no clue what they would do if they were separated from their loved ones and they are generally under the illusion that help will always be on the way.

Who is responsible for educating people about this? And what happens when you try to sell someone on preparedness who feels like it’s something only crazy people or survivalists need to worry about? How do you approach this topic without scaring them away?

By looking at the facts, showing them how easy it is to get started and by making preparedness feel like a way to take control of your life—not an ominous sign that the end of times is near.

The world as we know it is changing. Rapidly. And not necessarily for the better. Every day, it seems, there’s another natural disaster, another mass shooting, another political scandal. The news is a never-ending stream of bad news, and it’s taking its toll on our mental health. In fact, anxiety and depression are at an all-time high.

It’s no wonder so many people are talking about the end of the world. It feels like it could happen at any moment. And while we can’t predict the future, it doesn’t hurt to be prepared for the worst.

So what does that mean? Well, it depends on who you ask. For some people, being prepared for the end of the world means stockpiling supplies and learning survival skills. For others, it means creating close-knit communities and learning to live off the land.

Tools

Big game hunting is an essential part of any survivalist’s contingency plan.

Hopefully, you’ll never have to take down a horse, a bear, or a buffalo to feed your family. But if you do, you’re going to need the right tools for the job.

So what goes into your big game hunting kit?

The first thing you need is something to attract the animal. You can’t just go out and hope to catch one. You’re going to have to lure them in somehow, and that means playing by their rules.

Next up is a trap.

Trapping is obviously much easier than using other methods—it requires significantly less energy on your part and allows you to be more precise with your aim as well as more selective about what you bring home. If you want something that won’t damage the meat or otherwise spoil it, [company name] has traps of all kinds for every size of animal and for any situation.

Finally, it’s time for the kill shot—and this is where things get tricky. Whether you’re hunting with a gun

Bug Out

Are you ready to go?

You’ve got your bug-out bag packed, your water purifier at the ready, and your emergency generator in the garage. You’ve stored a year’s worth of food, and you’ve got a spot picked out to hide in case the apocalypse comes. You know how to make a bow and arrow out of a tree branch. You’re as prepared as anyone can be. But are you prepared mentally?

If you’re not, don’t worry—we’ve got you covered. Here’s how to get yourself in the right frame of mind for doomsday:

1. Don’t Sweat The Small Things

There might be zombies roaming around outside your house, but who cares

We know prepping for doomsday can be an anxiety-inducing experience. Sure, it’s exciting to imagine you’re going to be one of the few humans who survive a catastrophic event—it’s like a real-life Hunger Games! But that also means you need to be ready to face some harsh realities and make some difficult decisions. You may have to kill someone, or watch someone die. You may have to leave your family behind. And while you’re stockpiling now, eventually your supplies will run out.

It’s a lot to think about. Here are our tips for making sure you’re mentally prepared when the end finally comes:

Don’t panic

We know this is easier said than done, but it’s vital that you stay level-headed during an emergency situation. If your adrenaline is pumping, it will affect both your decision-making skills and your ability to keep calm in tense situations as they arise. Take some deep breaths and try not to let yourself get overly anxious (easier said than done).

If you can’t keep from panicking or becoming overwhelmed in emergencies, try meditation or breathing

Disasters happen.

We live on a planet that is a ticking time bomb, and if you’re reading this, you probably know the stats better than I do—and they don’t look good. Massive earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, supervolcanoes… it’s probably just a matter of time before one of these events hits us where we live.

It can be overwhelming to think about preparing for the end of the world as we know it. But there are so many things you can do to ensure that you and your family will have food, water, shelter, and medicine in the event of an apocalyps
