When Doomsday Comes Knocking
The reality is that doomsday could come at any time. It is a pretty big deal and you are not going to be able to just go and buy some groceries at the local grocery store.
You might be thinking, what should I buy to start stocking up?
Well, you should have a good idea already of some important types of food you should be preparing for doomsday. So that you can make sure that you’re ready when the time comes.
Dry Foods For Doomsday Prepping
If you’re prepping for doomsday, there are a lot of things to take into consideration. For instance, do you have enough water and shelter? Do you have enough guns, ammo, and survival gear?
But one thing many people don’t think about is food. Food is essential for survival in all situations, especially if the world is ending. But there are many different types of food to store, so how do you decide which ones will last the longest?
Dry foods are the way to go if you want your food supply to last years if not decades. Dry foods include powdered eggs, milk and other dairy products, dried beans and legumes (like kidney beans), potatoes (and other root vegetables), and other items that have been dehydrated or freeze-dried. These foods will last a considerable amount of time without refrigeration or freezing!
Dehydrated foods for doomsday preppers!
What’s better than being able to save the flavor of that delicious fruit you bought from the farmer’s market, or that amazing piece of steak you cooked up last night?
Dehydrating foods is one of my favorite ways to preserve food. It allows me to savor the flavors of foods from years ago.
If you don’t have a dehydrator, they are worth the money especially when prepping. Some of the foods you can dehydrate are fruits, which are great to dehydrate! I dehydrate the fruits and vegetables I grow and it’s great to snack on some when it’s wintertime.
You can also dehydrate vegetables, and meats such as beef, chicken, fish, and more! There are so many things you can use to dehydrate that it makes me happy just thinking about it!
Using Mylar Bags
I love using mylar bags because they allow me to store a lot of food for a long period of time. I think every prepper and doomsday prepper should implement using mylar bags.
Mylar bags are great for dry foods, but there are a few things you need to know about storing other types of food in them.
First off, you can’t store any kind of liquid in them. Things will spoil and go bad which defeats the purpose of using them.

Canning
Canning is another great way to prep food for the future. It’s similar to dehydrating food, but instead using jars. I think canning is a great addition to your prepping. It will give you peace of mind and save you money in the long run.
Canned food can be stored for many years without losing its taste or nutrients, which means that it can provide emergency food when needed. This is especially useful if there are any problems with your refrigerator or if it breaks down.
The process of canning is also very simple and does not require much time and effort on your part, once you get the hang of it.
What I Typically Can
When it comes to what I can there are different types of food that I can. The major ones are fruits, vegetables, soups, sauces(tomato sauce), applesauce, jams/jellies, and more.
The downside is that you need to take a little time to make sure everything you are using is clean and sanitized. But like most things, once you understand what to do it becomes a piece of cake.
There are many different types of food that you can store for doomsday, but the best way to make sure your food supply will last is to focus on dry foods. These include dehydrated or freeze-dried items like powdered eggs, milk, and beans. Mylar bags are also a great option for long-term food storage. And finally, canning is a great way to preserve food for years. So don’t forget to stock up on food as you prepare for doomsday!
