The Prepper Personality: What Type of Person Is a Prepper?

What personality type is a prepper?

Many people are interested in knowing more about the personality of preppers and understandably so. In recent years, prepping has gained more and more popularity. That is a result of what is going on in the world around us. It is true that people prepare for disasters but in different ways. There are a few common types of preppers with unique personalities. We will cover common personality traits that preppers have.

A prepper always has a plan in place.

A prepper always has a plan in place. This is because they know that if something goes wrong, they need to be able to rely on their skills and resources to get by. Having a plan helps them to be prepared for anything that might come up.

For example, a prepper might have a plan for what to do if there is a power outage. They might have a list of items they need to gather, such as flashlights and batteries, to be able to see in the dark.

They might also have a list of tasks that need to be completed to keep everyone safe, such as making sure there is plenty of food and water on hand. A prepper’s planning doesn’t stop at just preparing for emergencies, though. They might also have plans for how to live more sustainably or how to start a garden. By having all of these plans in place, a prepper can be ready for anything life throws their way.

Pays Attention To The Little Details

It is common for a prepper to be detail-oriented. They embody the personality trait of making sure that they are thorough in whatever they do. Commonly, they do not leave a “stone unturned” in everything they do. The same applies to them keeping their family safe.

A prepper who pays attention to the little details is someone who is always looking for ways to improve their situation, as a whole. They tend to be wanting to learn and gain new information to make things work better. In their family, work, and everything they do. It is this attention to detail that makes them a person who is always prepared and ready for anything that comes their way. A person like this is an asset in so many areas of life and this level of focus on the little details also extends to their family.

They Put Family First

A prepper is someone who is perceptive and attentive to the needs of their loved ones. They always want to make sure that everyone is safe and secure. They will go out of their way to ensure that their family has everything they need to survive. This includes having a well-stocked pantry, a safe place to shelter in case of emergencies, and a plan for how to deal with any potential threats.

Preppers tend to be organized

Do you have to be organized to be a prepper? No, not by any stretch of the imagination.

That being said, it goes a far way to be. I know many preppers and they tend to be organized. They have all of their food and supplies labeled. A person or prepper for that matter, who has a high level of organization skills has everything ready. They are people who know exactly where something is and how to use it because they are thorough and always seek out new information on things

From my experience, the preppers I know tend to be organized. It is a result of them knowing that to be prepared for anything, they need to have everything in its proper place. They understand that if something is not where it should be or is out of place, it could be the difference between living and dying. This is why it is common for preppers to label their items and have a plan for where everything goes. They want to make sure that they can find anything they need at a moment’s notice.

Every Detail Counts

This level of organization and attention to detail is what makes preppers so reliable in a crisis. It is also what makes them such excellent survivors. The reality is that preppers really know that when the SHTF, they need to be able to rely on their skills and knowledge to get through it. They also know that there is no room for error when lives are on the line. You only get one chance.

This organization can be seen in various parts of their life and helps them to do well. This is why preppers tend to be organized and detail-oriented people. It is simply essential for their survival.

Organization Is Essential

It is so essential for preppers as things can go 0 to 100 real quick. When they are organized, they are as a result better able to face whatever comes.

It is commonplace for preppers to have devised specific plans for each type of disaster. So that they know what has to be done. Preppers know that our lives and our families, lives could depend on it. This attention to detail is something that is such a strength to have in general and in prepping.

Just the fact that you are reading this, means you are probably someone who likes to plan and prepare ahead of time. You do not wait for things to happen to you, you prepare for possible scenarios. Whether it’s an economic collapse, natural disaster, or something else entirely, they are ready.

Mentality

Preppers are inclined to have their minds ready for whatever comes. This mental strength and organization will make a major difference in a survival situation and in life. They prepare for things so that they can face them head-on! You will not see things as a mess, but as to where they are supposed to be. This level of attention to detail and organization gives them an advantage in any situation.

Self-Reliant

A self-reliant person is someone beneficial in any situation. They are independent and resourceful and can think and act quickly in times of need. These qualities often allow self-reliant people to stay afloat when others around them are struggling.

Indeed, self-reliant people are often not affected by outside factors (war, viruses, disasters…). They are unwavering in their courage and confidence in their own abilities. This allows them to be successful even in the face of adversity.

The world that we live in, continues to change all the time. It becomes more and more unpredictable. That is exactly why preppers tend to have self-reliance as a part of who they are!

Preppers Use What Is Around Them To Their Advantage

In reality, a lot of people who do not have personality traits such as being organized, detail-oriented and self-reliant do not rise to the challenge. They are not able to use what is around them to their benefit. It is a mindset of always looking for opportunities even when there seems to be none. This ability to use what is around them is key in all areas of life.

Never Stop Learning

Preppers need to always want to learn about new things. To better themselves in their preparedness and all aspects of their life. In so many areas: family, relationships, work, finances, etc.)

Their skillsets continue to expand and as a result, so does everything else within their lives. These are the common characteristics of preppers. There are many, but these are the ones I have seen the most over the years of being a prepper myself.
